Resolutie
You can enable resolution services to allow the DiskStation to resolve recursive queries. A recursive query occurs when the DiskStation is not authoritative for a requested domain. In this case, the DiskStation queries other domain name servers until the information is found, or until the query fails.
For example, if a client queries your DiskStation for the address of "synology.com," but your DiskStation is not authoritative for this domain (i.e. you do not own synology.com), it will query other domain name servers or forward the request to specified forwarder servers, and then relay the result back to the sender of the query.
Opmerking:
To enable resolution services:
- Check the Enable resolution services box.
- Edit the following settings:
- Limit source IP service: If this option is enabled, only hosts or subnets included on the Source IP List are allowed to make recursive queries through the DiskStation.
- Source IP List: Click here to specify which hosts or subnets are allowed to make recursive queries through the DiskStation.
- Enable forwarders: This option allows the DiskStation to redirect recursive queries to forwarder servers, such as public DNS resolvers. Enabling forwarders can improve resolution time and consume less system resources.
- Forwarders: Enter the IP addresses of forwarders into the Forwarder 1 and Forwarder 2 fields.
- Forward policy: Select a policy for forwarding queries. If you select Forward First, the DiskStation queries root servers when forwarders do not respond. If you select Don't query root servers, the DiskStation does not resolve queries even if forwarders do not respond.
- Click OK to save settings.
